It's in the Caucasus mountains in southern Russia near the border with Georgia. You would need to fly to Moscow and then take an internal flight south Stavropol or Sochi aren't too far away. However - check advice for travelling in this region before going, it's not one of the safest in the world.

Mt. Elbrus is located in the Kabardina-Balkaria republic in the Caucasus region, it's the highest peak in Europe, the most convenient location to access the summits from is the city of Nalchik
you can fly directly from Moscow to Nalchik, where trips are arranged to Mt. Elbrus
