Did anyone can tell me anything about the russian town Kazan

i was born in kazan and lived there all my life (moved to the states just 3 years ago). it's a big city, over a million people. they just opened a subway last year. it does have a long history, august 2005 we had 1000 year anniversary. so there're lots of sights to look at. our BIG OPERA HOUSE is very famous all over the world. it is primarily muslim. during the last several years the appearance of the city has changed drastically, it has become beautiful European city. oh it's a big port also. if you're interested send me a message, i'll tell u some more

a city where the muslims are living next to the christians, like two completely two different cultures in one melting pot. Generally with old Soviet Union ugly low buildings, buuut there's Peter's cathedral, which is one o the things which impressed me the most, just stroke (and I travel a lot)
